You would think the advantages they list are mostly marketing, but all are true and many are significant improvements over their competition. The Rhodes 22 just has more well-thought bells and whistles that make a difference. Manufacturer support is extremely high.
It is a marvel of ingenuity and design, and is a great boat for overnighting. And the builders support (General Boats) is legendary.
Big enough to be very comfortable yet small enough to be easily handled on the water, at the dock and on the trailer. In-mast-furling main is terrific. Huge cockpit. Easy, one-man mast raising/lowering system. It\'s the perfect boat for me.
I take it to Baja and that involves 700nm plus I like to sail the Sacromento delta. When I was between jobs I trailered it down to Florida, sailed it over to the Bahamas and spent a couple months sailing from Ragged Island up to Walker Cay and most everything in between. After 45 years of active sailing this is my favorite boat to sail, bar none.

Very comfortable, easy to sail, great engine (56hp Yanmar), very unique and attractive design below decks with plenty of storage, lots of light below decks, many forward opening hatches for good air circulation while at anchor.
It is an excellent combination of good sailing qualities and comfortable to plush living conditions.
I would buy another today if something happened to my boat.
Good after the sale service by the manufacturer. Excellent value for the price.

Every year we continue to look at the boat shows in the 40-45 ft size range for our new boat and still cant find anything we\'d consider a step up.
Great boat for our use and fast too. Have finished in the money in several races repeatedly. Would like to have more cockpit storage and trade it for the huge aft cabin. Woodwork is good for a production boat. Great galley / frig / freezer.
Can be a bit tender, but if you reef early, it handles a wide variety of conditions.

Catalina C320 International Association has been a major, repeat MAJOR, source of my confidence and pleasure in owning our C320.
The overall design is brilliant. This is shown in good hull speeds, sail and rigging plans, and a cockpit which is not just functional, it is also a pleasure to be in.
I could not find a used boat under 37 than compared favorably to the 320.
Staying aboard overnight with up to four persons is very comfortable.
I wanted the boat enough to buy it in San Francisco and sail it back to Honolulu.

This is my second Precision. I had a P-18 before. I have found both boats to be of the highest quality build with fantastic factory support. It does everything I want it to do in a safe and effecient manner. If something happenned to Off The Wind, I would replace her with another P-21.
Fast!
Room in the cabin and the performance makes the P-21 seem like a larger boat.

It easily achieves hull speed in a 15 to 20 knot wind. Have had the boat holding 8.6 knots for an extended time in a 20+ knot wind. The boat is a little tender and can be easily over-powered therefore, proper sail management is necessary.
The galley is by far the best of all the Catalinas including the 470. It is a great boat for entertaining above or below.
We chose the 400 over the Catalina 42...when we purchased it new in 2006. A good value for the money.

Easy to sail. Tender, need to reef early. Great boat to cruise with another couple. It gets more difficult to handle the full roach main every year.
Pros: A great boat for entertaining guests on a daysail, even a weekend. The cockpit is huge, the accomidations below are very roomy. The rig arrangement is very managable especially the genoa which is smaller then most boats. The traveller is very easy to adjust from the helm (e.g. no need to reach thru a bimini). The seacocks are centrally managed just under the floor near the companionway.
I have pushed her hard with full sails up to 22 - 25 knots but it\'s not comfortable. I have had her out in 35 knots with 10 foot wave height and she handled these conditions flawlessly.

Spacious, well appointed, and very easy to sail. She is a performer in all weather conditions. It is amazing how much storage there is and how easy it is ta access engine, valves, tanks, and other equipment. My family has sailed this boat from Maine to Florida to Bahamas and back again with extreme comfort and safety and we cannot wait to do this again. EXCELLENT!!
We do not like the narrow access to aft cabin, and would like a little better natural ventilation in the aft cabin. Otherwise its a great boat and easy to sail singlehanded. The boat has a high freeboard so that takes a bit of mastering (without a bow thruster).
Boat is fast. We have one electric winch which makes raising the main easy. Below deck is spacious and we live aboard every weekend in the summer. Great for long distance crusing.

Graceful lines. Easy to walk around the stays to get forward. Refer works excellent and holds plenty of stores. Extra dry storage area is fitted with drain so you can use as an ice box to add additional cold storage.
Great cruiser and OK racer. Wing keel slows performance in race conditions but helps cruising. Control line lay out and roller furling main (in mast) make it excellent for single handling.
The Catalina 310 is a unique design and not intended for everyone. Its primary goal was to provide comfortable accommodations for a cruising couple. If you have a large family, this boat is not for you.
Universal engine is disappointing, vibration at low RPM.
I have sailed from Boston to the central coast of Maine single-handed, or with just my 10 year old nephew, and she handles great.

Great boat for 2, as far as handling, ease of sailing, weekends, and the occasional twilight race. The 33 has handled our gulf conditions in the 20-30 knot range very well. At no point did we feel not confident in the boat.
The small headsail does not give you enough power to point high particularly in light winds and against currents. Reaching performance is well above average.
Plenty of room, rig and arch excellent, good looking, easy to sail, very good value for the money.
Not enough storage in the galley area, poor quality sails, they could do with a performance package option, the head needs opening port.
